Linking sign-in methods
Tana has no passwords. You sign in with a Google, Apple, or Slack account. Link more than one, and any of them gets you into the same Tana account.
Linking an account
Section titled “Linking an account”Account settings shows the methods you can currently sign in with, under Connected accounts. Press Add and sign in with a Google, Apple, or Slack account to link it.
Linking more than one method means you’re covered in situations like these:
- You want to use Google on your work computer and Apple on your iPhone.
- You lose access to one of the accounts.
Unlinking an account
Section titled “Unlinking an account”Use Unlink next to a connected account to remove it. You can’t unlink your only remaining sign-in method — link another one first.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- If you see “Already linked to another Tana account”, that account is in use by a different Tana account. Sign in to that account and unlink it, or delete the account and link again.
- Google and Apple are treated as separate sign-in methods even with the same email address. Link both if you want to use either one.
If you can’t sign in
Section titled “If you can’t sign in”- If you’ve linked another method: sign in with a different linked method (Google, Apple, or Slack), unlink the one that stopped working in Account settings, and link the new one.
- If you can’t get into your Google or Apple account itself: follow that provider’s account-recovery steps to get it back first.
- If you still can’t sign in: contact support@tana.app. Including the email address you used to sign in and the name of your team helps us check things quickly.
We recommend linking two or more sign-in methods just in case.
One account per person
Section titled “One account per person”The account you sign in with should belong to you alone. Avoid sharing one account among team members — see Don’t share your account for why.
