QR labels and scanning
Put a QR label on a shelf or box, and scanning it opens the item or storage directly, so you can record stock on the spot.
Printing labels
Section titled “Printing labels”Open a printable sheet of QR codes from the Labels button on the items or storages list (item labels, storage labels). The sheet carries over whatever filter is currently applied, so narrow your search first to print only what you need. Print labels from the web app.
When a team member scans a label, the item or storage opens directly. If someone outside the team scans it, no stock quantity is shown — only the name and how to join the team.
Scanning
Section titled “Scanning”- iOS app: Scan with the camera from Scan in the sidebar or from the search screen.
- Web app: Scan with your browser’s camera from the scan button on the search box (open scan). Allow camera access when your browser asks.
Barcodes
Section titled “Barcodes”Tana also reads common product barcodes. There’s no need to put a Tana label on top of a product that already has a manufacturer’s barcode. Use Attach barcode on the item’s details page to register one, and scanning it will open that item.
The formats the camera can read differ by app.
- iOS app: QR Code, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Data Matrix, Aztec, ITF (Interleaved 2 of 5), ITF-14, PDF417.
- Web app: QR Code, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39.
