Locations
A location groups storages by physical place: a building, a floor, a site, a vehicle. It’s optional — add one once storage names alone stop being enough to tell them apart. Two rooms in different locations can each have a “Shelf A” without conflict.
Adding a location
Section titled “Adding a location”Create a new location from the locations list and fill in the following.
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Name | Required. Up to 100 characters. |
| Address | Optional. Up to 500 characters. |
| Map pin | Optional. Set a latitude and longitude to open the place in a map app. |
An address and pin let you answer “where is Vehicle 2?” from your phone.

Assigning storages
Section titled “Assigning storages”Choose which storages belong to a location with Set storages on its details page. Storages in this location lists the ones already assigned.
You can add photos to a location too. A photo of the building’s exterior or entrance helps a member visiting for the first time.
Editing and deleting
Section titled “Editing and deleting”Change the name, address, and pin on the location’s details page.
Deleting a location doesn’t delete its storages or their stock. They remain unassigned and can be reassigned to another location. A location is a label attached to a group of storages, and removing the label never loses the stock.
